Eleanor Roberts

Humanistic therapeutic counsellor

I am a humanistic therapeutic counsellor, and my practice is about working together for change. For me, a genuine and collaborative relationship between counsellor and client is key to helping you heal and understand a bit more about who you are, and how you want to be. I like to offer a warm and down-to-earth welcome to clients from many different walks of life and identities.

My training qualification is in humanistic counselling and psychotherapy, and I work from an ethical foundation of person-centred and anti-oppressive practice. What this means to me is that I value people in their uniqueness, and I respect each person’s right to self-create. I work with awareness of cultural differences and social inequalities, and my knowledge and training in diversity and inclusive practice is extensive.

My first placements in counselling were in drug and alcohol use recovery, and open-ended low-cost therapy. This means I have experience working with a range of issues, including supporting addiction recovery in a fixed number of sessions, and helping clients explore how they see themselves and their relationships in the long-term. Whatever kind of issue you are wanting to look at, the way I work involves listening and really hearing you as well as building a meaningful dialogue between us.
